As a photographers we are always aware of light; where it comes from, the quality of it, the color and how we can use it. I find that more often than not I am get transfixed by the actually fixtures light comes out of. Lately, I have been attracted to the modern decorative light fixtures I see popping up in the most common places; ironically, I am finding them newly remolded restaurants like TCBY and Tokyo Joe’s. It is incredible how a simple decorative light fixture can completely change the mood and feel of a place.
The image above is a light fixture at the new Fort Collins Museum of Discovery I have shot this before and never get tired of it. I believe it was designed to look like a dandelion. I image in my quest to shoot A photo A Day light fixtures will be represented throughout the year.
