I have not been very religious throughout my life. I was baptized Syrian Orthodox, confirmed Episcopalian and have recently started to dabble in Buddhism.
Our family went to church on Sundays but at some point when our (Blair and I) complaining became to much and we were old enough to stay home on our own we didn’t have to go any more except for the obligatory Easter and Christmas service.
I am still working on my belief system and realize I am in need of a serious “spiritual makeover”.
But with the passing of my mother I can only believe that she is in a much better place smiling down on us and protecting us. The streets might not be paved with gold but I know there is no suffering where she is.
I rejoice in the vision of her flying with the angels.
