I am pleased to say that my 200th image of the year was shot with my NikonD600. I can’t believe I have made it this far. I am glad this image is not a cell phone photo and I was able to capture a moment with perspective and composition. Teaching summer photo camp you would hope I would be able to apply what I am teaching.

Circles are such a rich theme. There are the physical properties but also the symbolic concepts associated with it. These ideas are particularly heavy on my mind now with ideas about the circle of life.
My mother will be a big inspiration in my work in the future months subconsciously and well as consciously.
She talked about “coming back” as a butterfly. I don’t think she really believed in recreation necessarily but her sign to us that she was near by and always in our hearts would be a butterfly.
These gorgeously preserved butterflies are a reminder for me of the freedom of flight and the lightness of being I know she is experiencing.
